"Spring Time at the Beach"

That's what I've decided to call this blanket. My latest project.......well, the only for about a year now.....twas fun, but took longer than I thought (mostly b/c I can't seem to stay awake at nights anymore........except for a caffeine rush). This is the one, Anne.

"Verses From the Bible"

(This is from Julia's 8th birthday)
These are Julia's verses she wrote down on Sunday b/c she thought they were good verses. I would have to agree.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The Chordettes - Lollipop

Por mi mamacita. And as some have sung "Lonna Price, Lonna Price oh Lonna, Lonna Price" Cute, huh?

Friday Night.........Game Night

So we did a game night last night. We had come up with this "new" game the other day, before catechism and reading, where one of the kids holds the toy basket and you throw the softer toys ("I said softer, Warren!!" :D ) into the basket. Of course we had to have music......Tis all the better you know. It was quite fun! We then moved on (except for the cam. b/c the battery died) to see who can hit the ball in the air the most times with their hand ( or other body parts for that matter ). Then next to last game (which we didn't know at the time was the next to last game b/c we thought we had sooooo much energy just to play aaaaaaall night......) was Chinese Checkers ( I'm so glad stars have that many arms!). I knew it would get all congested in the middle once everyone got out of the main arm which I thought would make it the more fun.......well, things started to go downhill and between turns.........more and more yawns were a'happenin'. Due to the late hour, the low point of a small sugar rush, being worn out from "dancing", and just being bored by the longevity of the game the tail end of game night was less than exciting. hehehe But the kids did learn a little lesson in persevering, persevering til the game was over, start what you finish. I do think tonight it "will be continued" b/c as Julia had said, "we didn't even get to have our pop and chips." ( not to worry, I didn't deprive them of "goodies"). We made granola, and pudding ( for those who can have rice milk it was rice milk pudding and there was a soy milk pudding, too). Then we had some nice canned fruit and put it together and wha' do you got piffity-parfity-parfait ( notice to readers: no magic was used near, during, buy, or in the making of the parfaits. Although maybe a tinsy winsy bit of "mom magic" happened while in the process of making the granola when mom threw in a dash( or two.......or three) of ground flax seeds b/c no one noticed. Bwaaahahahaha!
(Didja notice........Murray snuck a few shots in, too :P He did have a headache when all that was going on. Amazing, huh? )

Kennedy's New (impatient) Phrase . (oh dear)

I was in the kitchen (as I am profusely) and Kennedy wanted me to hold her (she asks me all the time to hold her.......she still thinks she's the baby of the family??? But it's a good thing she's not!!!!). Anyways, she said, "Hold me,quick," in her little girl voice with dainty arms wide open.

Making the Sabbath a Delight

As Sabbatarians we do LOVE the Lord's Day and try to keep it holy. God made it just for His people to rest from worldly doings, no matter how good and necessary. I believe adults have it easier since we can read, study, pray, commune with the saints, sing etc. Children on the other hand may see this as a day that takes away their "fun". Because our society has drifted so far from Biblical standards we have to wrack our brains trying to think of things for our children to do to keep it holy. We are out of practice, God help us, in doing so. May we reclaim the ground of our faithful forefathers and seek ways to help us and our children to see how delightful the Lord's Day can be. It's such a wonderful time spending with the family in reading God's word, expounding it, applying it, meditating on it. Also the reading of wonderful books which are inspiring, encouraging, convicting, illuminating, and downright necessary. It is a glorious picture of that everlasting feast of His Saints and their Bridegroom joyously communing.

So here is one way we try to keep the Sabbath.
Pictures with Bible verses at it's side. Or should I say Bible verses with pictures at it's side. ( I know for a fact that Julia would be devastated if she had to go a day without coloring). So we keep coloring to things of the Bible or things of a lawful nature on the Lord's Day. Which is so exciting to see what they come up with.

(Isaiah 62:5) For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

King Tut (Tutankhamun) Reincarnated???

I followed my curiousity stemming from noises being made in my bedroom one morning........and this is what, or should I say whom, I found. Dress up already and one so young? I guess he really gets into the Ancient Egyptian era.

"Wha'd ya say, Mom? I couldn't hear ya."

Is that Mozart's Symphonica Sonata Orchestral Suite #670 movement 334 for the Sousaphone son?

Missing Camera.........

but we'll never tell who took it. Anyways, I think he, I mean that someone, had fun.

Robot Eyes

In our family, when ever someone shows good facial/eye expressions we have to name the "eye" expression he/she uses. Like on Toy Story, when Mr. Potato Head puts his angry eyes on......they are naturally called angry-eyes. So if someone in our family gets an angry expression on their face we say, "Don't use your angry eyes". Or if somone is being sly.......again, "Uh-oh," we say, "there's the sly-eyes". So I guess these are Warren's "robot-eyes"

Night Cap Redefined

Kennedy has worn the beanie/tuque Auntie Annie made for her to bed. I'm sure this little 23 lb feather weight certainly gets cold unlike her 23 lb brother, Mitchum. We had to weigh the kids for their passports and it's true my little 2 year old and 8month old weigh the same!!!

"You look funny." 15 min. later "Wow, you look nice"

The boys had to get a comment in about how funny Beth looked with her hair in curlers. But boys don't know how "funny" curlers make girls' hair pretty. They will be lessoned in the ways of girls ( your welcomed future wives:P ). Sisters are so good for brothers. I never get to curl hair or spend too much time fidgeting over the girls anymore. But the Lord has helped me get things in order sooner on Sundays!! (Yeah!!) So here's to fidgeting!:D

Congratulations, Ann!!!!!!

I just had to write a post to congratulate our graduate one more time (times a billion :D ). We're soooo excited and proud of our Ann to have completed her course in medical transcription!!! She faced the challenge and though some quizzes hard, due to Dr.s' lack of a lot of things ( see Ann's post on this subject, written a while ago I might add) she persevered and finished the goal set before her. I get sooo excited if I finish very short term "goals" but how exciting when they are so much work!!! Oh, to party with her! Mmm-hmm girl (ladies on Fireproof tehehehe) you know it.:P:P:P
All our love and a TON of virtual celebratory hugs and kisses. EEEEEEK!!!

Tres Belle

Happy Birthday, Beautiful!!!
Jen has a lovely tribute to Ann,
but I just had to post a little something for my sister, my love!!!
She is beautiful in every way!!! She is such an encouragement to all those around her, she is a smart little cookie, she is passionate about the things of the Lord, she is self-sacrificial, she honors and respects her most wonderful parents, she's talented, and a Tres Belle daughter of Zion, daughter of the King.( of course we know that the Lord is the author of ALL these wonderful gifts he has given her. Praise be to Him!!).
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Ann, I love you so much, gal!!! I can't wait to cook with you and spend time with you like sisters should.
All my Love!!!

My own little, little nothing.

I was showing Pierce Paintworks on the computer and this is what came out. hahaha Looks like a child's drawing......

Rapunzel- By Julia

In case you're wondering why Julia's pictures don't have faces.....it's because all the other apsects of drawing are easier for her to draw but she is daunted by drawing the faces. So she's practicing. I think one of the best and easiest ways of doing just that is by getting out a coloring book of princesses or whatever you're trying to draw and trace them until you feel comfortable enough to draw it free-hand until you feel comfortable enough to draw it on your own. Coloring books are typically very simple drawings with simple lines ( I know this b/c I am a very simplistic "drawer"/"copier":P:P:P). And when I see simple I know it, when I see detail I know it ( by usually feeling overwhelmed or totally amazed by the drawing:P:P),

Flowers for Kennedy by Warren ( so sweet!!)
