Spurgeon's Sentiments of Spring

(Monet)

Spring in the Heart

"Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof."—Psalm 65:10.

Spiritual spring is a very blessed season in a church. Then we see youthful piety developed, and on every hand we hear the joyful cry of those who say, "We have found the Lord." Our sons are springing up as the grass and as willows by the watercourses. We hold up our hands in glad astonishment and cry, "Who are these that fly as a cloud and as doves to their windows?" In the revival days of a Church, when God is blessing her with many conversions, she has great cause to rejoice in God and to sing, "Thou blessest the springing thereof." (http://www.spurgeon.org/misc/heart.htm link to read the sermon in it's entirity)

(Love this, sooo stinkin' funny and classic!!!!)

Spring Fling

(Canadian Goose in case you weren't sure. That's a big deal! Oh to hear the honks of geese in March!!!)

Yes, spring is here, even though where we live it's not very pronounced yet, but still with as much daylight as we're getting........that alone makes me imagine blooming flowers. So our spring fun started with art class. Even better, edible art!!! Even better than that, Chocolate edible art!!! The kids made things that reminded them of spring-time.

Son 2:11 For,lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
Son 2:12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
Son 2:13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Mommy's constant helpers

AB "F" "F" "F"

Warren has now learned his ABC's and Kennedy, so enthusiastic to learn, goes around the house saying what she can, in her own little Kennedy order. I took her grocery shopping last Sat. just her and Mommy and she was just singing away in the cart. She sang the low parts and high parts and she even got a few crescendos in there (okay more than a few). It was very sweet to see and watch. I'm so glad we got to spend that time together.

Consequently, Mitch (Chous-Choosq) has picked up on a letter. The letter "F". Here he is in this picture dictating his "F". :D

Our boy, Our Joy

What joy this little guy brings into our home! I can almost feel and smell him in these pictures. Preciousness concentrated.

Need I say more?

"Spring Time at the Beach"

That's what I've decided to call this blanket. My latest project.......well, the only for about a year now.....twas fun, but took longer than I thought (mostly b/c I can't seem to stay awake at nights anymore........except for a caffeine rush). This is the one, Anne.

"Verses From the Bible"

(This is from Julia's 8th birthday)
These are Julia's verses she wrote down on Sunday b/c she thought they were good verses. I would have to agree.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The Chordettes - Lollipop

Por mi mamacita. And as some have sung "Lonna Price, Lonna Price oh Lonna, Lonna Price" Cute, huh?

Friday Night.........Game Night

So we did a game night last night. We had come up with this "new" game the other day, before catechism and reading, where one of the kids holds the toy basket and you throw the softer toys ("I said softer, Warren!!" :D ) into the basket. Of course we had to have music......Tis all the better you know. It was quite fun! We then moved on (except for the cam. b/c the battery died) to see who can hit the ball in the air the most times with their hand ( or other body parts for that matter ). Then next to last game (which we didn't know at the time was the next to last game b/c we thought we had sooooo much energy just to play aaaaaaall night......) was Chinese Checkers ( I'm so glad stars have that many arms!). I knew it would get all congested in the middle once everyone got out of the main arm which I thought would make it the more fun.......well, things started to go downhill and between turns.........more and more yawns were a'happenin'. Due to the late hour, the low point of a small sugar rush, being worn out from "dancing", and just being bored by the longevity of the game the tail end of game night was less than exciting. hehehe But the kids did learn a little lesson in persevering, persevering til the game was over, start what you finish. I do think tonight it "will be continued" b/c as Julia had said, "we didn't even get to have our pop and chips." ( not to worry, I didn't deprive them of "goodies"). We made granola, and pudding ( for those who can have rice milk it was rice milk pudding and there was a soy milk pudding, too). Then we had some nice canned fruit and put it together and wha' do you got piffity-parfity-parfait ( notice to readers: no magic was used near, during, buy, or in the making of the parfaits. Although maybe a tinsy winsy bit of "mom magic" happened while in the process of making the granola when mom threw in a dash( or two.......or three) of ground flax seeds b/c no one noticed. Bwaaahahahaha!
(Didja notice........Murray snuck a few shots in, too :P He did have a headache when all that was going on. Amazing, huh? )

Spurgeon, of course.

"There is nothing in this world to foster a Christian's piety, but everything to destroy it."
